―35― You Did It! Master!
Walking through the hidden passage, I arrive in a seemingly empty open room.
A rumbling sound echoes, and as I turn around, I see that the entrance I passed through earlier is closing off.
It seems I've been trapped.
"Master, they're coming!"
The puppeteer cries out.
Suddenly, multiple teleportation circles appear on the ground.
"Grrraaahhhh!!"
"Master, these are the Golden Living Armors, which can earn you a large number of skill points!"
As I look, the room is filled with numerous golden-armored figures. I quickly count, and there are around twenty of them.
Ordinary Living Armors are classified as A-rank difficulty monsters, said to be slightly stronger than the Armored Bear Bugbear I had struggled against in the past. Considering that, it's safe to assume that these Golden Living Armors are even stronger.
The Golden Living Armors each wield a shining golden one-handed sword in their hands. This means I need to be cautious in fighting them.
"Black Blade!"
I shout, gripping the transformed puppeteer, which now resembles a sword.
With that, I dive into the group of Golden Living Armors.
I narrowly dodge the slashing attack of a Golden Living Armor.
"Hey, pay attention and attack!"
I shout this out while using "Provocation."
In response, a Golden Living Armor boldly charges at me.
I dodge it.
With a loud crash, one Golden Living Armor ends up attacking another, resulting in friendly fire.
"You did it! Master!"
The puppeteer praises me.
"Surprisingly, I'm confident in dealing with group battles."
The experience of facing numerous Armored Bear Bugbears must be coming in handy.
"Hey, you small fry. Come at me from anywhere!"
Facing the large number of Golden Living Armors, I provoke them again.
"Well then, let's begin. Time to hunt some small fry."
With that, I tense up and, a few tens of seconds later, get stabbed in the back and die.
Well, I didn't expect to succeed on the first try, so it's no big deal.
◆
The timing of my revival after being killed by the Golden Living Armors remained the same as when I had finished the battle against the Armored Bear Bugbears.
At this point, I hadn't yet acquired the Parasitic Sword Puppeteer, so I needed to act again to obtain it.
"It's fine, I'll follow you, Master."
The puppeteer had always obediently followed my orders, so I didn't encounter any trouble in this regard.
First, I collect the chest containing the "Crystal of Wisdom" and acquire the "Swordsmanship" skill.
Then, I raise the "Swordsmanship" skill from level 1 to level 2.
I knew that defeating three monsters would accumulate enough skill points to level up to level 2.
If I can take down three monsters in a few hours, I can quickly achieve this goal.
So far, this is all the preparation needed before entering the hidden room.
"Heh, to think you knew about this hidden passage. You're quite knowledgeable, Master."
"Well, you could say that."
As soon as I open the hidden passage, the puppeteer speaks, and I nod in agreement.
"I'll leave it to you, Puppeteer."
"Sure thing, leave it to me."
We then challenged the room filled with numerous Golden Living Armors and, once again, I died.
