―33― I Choose to Follow You
The time spent with the vampire Yudit was intense.
There's an immeasurable amount of things I've learned from her.
The general layout of the dungeon, the location of her hideout, the whereabouts of secret passages and hidden rooms, and even the locations of treasure chests containing skills.
Other than that, I've learned how to wield a sword in combat.
The most significant skill is the control of the Parasitic Sword Puppeteer.
Though the connection I had with Yudit has vanished, the knowledge she imparted to me remains.
Without delay, I activate the teleportation array that leads to the location of the Parasitic Sword Puppeteer.
"I remember, I shouldn't grip the hilt."
Gripping the hilt allows the puppet to take over my body, so I grasp the blade instead.
From there, I insert the Parasitic Sword Puppeteer deep into my throat...
As soon as I place the puppet inside me, my consciousness fades. Yes, it was like this the last time too.

I believe it's called the Deep World.

Before me stands the Parasitic Sword Puppeteer.
Its appearance is strange, with body parts like eyes, ears, and a mouth randomly placed in a blurry darkness.
"I have a favor to ask. Please lend me your power."
I remember that last time, when I asked like this, it readily agreed.
"Hmm, what should I do...?"
As the Parasitic Sword Puppeteer hesitates, I start feeling uneasy.
"What's the issue?"
"Well, you see, I have my own purpose too. I was wondering if following you would help me achieve that purpose."
"What is your purpose?"
"Becoming human."
The Parasitic Sword Puppeteer declares.
"I think if I parasitize a person, I might become human by taking over their body."
"So, if you're controlled by me, you won't be able to become human?"
"Hmm, who knows? I mean, I've parasitized many humans before, but I've never become human. Ironically, being under your control might bring me closer to being human."
"So, does that mean you'll belong to me?"
"Yeah, that's fine. I feel some kind of destiny with you."
Surprisingly, it seems willing to obey quite easily.
"I choose to follow you."
As the Parasitic Sword Puppeteer declares this, the Deep World starts crumbling. Before I know it, I'm standing back in the dungeon corridor where I was just a while ago.

I cautiously avoid battles with monsters as much as possible, but when necessary, I use "Black Blade" to defeat them.

Afterward, I push forward to a hidden room with a treasure chest.
I remember that if I push the wall here, a hidden passage should appear.
As expected, an unremarkable wall opens up, revealing a passage when pushed.
Proceeding straight ahead, I find a treasure chest.
Upon opening the chest, I obtain the "Crystal of Wisdom" and a list of available skills is displayed.

The "Crystal of Wisdom" grants a random skill when used.
Last time, I used this item to acquire "Attribute Enhancement."
But in the end, I didn't get a chance to use "Attribute Enhancement."
Actually, I might not need to use it immediately. I could put it off for later.
The treasure chest containing the "Crystal of Wisdom" is in a room just before the one with the boss. So, obtaining it comes with risks and takes time.
Rather than that, I decide to focus on leveling up the "Swordsmanship" skill for now.
