― Chapter 15 ― Further into the Depths...
The armored Grizzly Bugbears had all been defeated, but no exit appeared within the sealed chamber.
Upon closer inspection, some of the Grizzly Bugbears who had merely fainted were still alive.
It seemed that one had to properly finish them off; otherwise, there was no way to exit the room.
Thus, during the battle, I picked up the tusks of the fallen Grizzly Bugbears and used them to deal the final blow to those still alive.

I confirmed the subjugation of the monsters.
I acquired skill points.

I see, it appears I can earn skill points by delivering the finishing blow myself.
There were about three Grizzly Bugbears that were still breathing, so I dispatched them one by one.
As a result, a deep rumbling sound echoed, and an exit appeared.
Finally, I could leave this room.
By the way, I wonder how many skill points I have now?
Curious, I displayed the status screen.

Possessed Skill Points: 16
〈Provocation Level 1〉
Remaining Skill Points for Level Up: 10

I guess I can increase the level of 〈Provocation〉 to 2 if I want to.
However, I'm not entirely sure of the benefits of raising the level of 〈Provocation〉.
Well, there's no need to rush; I can put leveling up on hold for now.
"Also, I'm getting hungry."
Rubbing my stomach, I thought about it.
Usually, adventurers bring provisions when entering a dungeon.
However, as a punishment, there's no way I was provided with food before being banished to the depths of the dungeon.
"Considering I might be moving around more, I should save the meal."
I also needed to replenish fluids.
I didn't have nothing though.
Before me lay the carcasses of the Grizzly Bugbears.
Eating their flesh would fill my belly, and drinking their blood would quench my thirst.
I've eaten monster meat before; it's a common sight in markets. But without any means to prepare a fire, I'd have to consume it raw.
Eating it raw would definitely be mentally challenging.
"Still, I can't just go without eating."
With that in mind, I attempted to dismantle the Grizzly Bugbear using its tusks.
The meat was too tough, so it took quite a while.
Still, I managed to prepare a portion large enough to eat.
And so, I took a bite.
"Ugh."
It tasted of blood.
And it had a beastly odor.
If only I had a fire, I could have had something better.

After finishing my meal, I decided to hang some of the dismantled meat on my belt, in case I had the chance to eat it later.
Then, I stepped out of the room with the treasure chest.
Outside the room, the dungeon's corridor stretched on.
The path forked like a maze, and honestly, I had no idea which way to go.
"Come to think of it, where am I in this dungeon..."
All I knew was that I had been transported to the depths.
【Catalov Dungeon】 was renowned as an S-ranked dungeon, and no one had ever successfully conquered it, so the location of its lowest level was unknown.
"To escape the dungeon, it's probably better to head towards the entrance rather than the exit."
The further one goes towards the exit, the stronger the monsters become.
So, heading towards the entrance would likely increase my chances of survival.
"The problem is figuring out which way will get me closer to the entrance."
Well, I suppose I'll have to proceed blindly.
With that thought, I began to explore the depths of the dungeon.
